Central Piedmont Library Faculty/Staff Equipment Policy
Purpose
Faculty and Staff equipment is available on a first come first served basis to current Central Piedmont Community College Faculty and Staff. Equipment is available to faculty and staff in order to perform tasks necessary to their job function at Central Piedmont. Failure to comply with this policy and/or repeated late returns may result in loss of equipment borrowing privileges.
Length of Check Out & Renewals
Laptops and hotspots are available for check out for the entire semester. Semester laptops must be returned at the end of each semester. All other equipment is available for two weeks or as identified by the borrower.

How to Request
Reservations may not be placed on laptops or hotspots to ensure equitable access. All other equipment (camcorders, tripods, projectors, etc.) may be requested by faculty and staff. To request equipment please visit the Faculty/Staff Equipment page. Faculty and staff may also call a library location to request equipment or walk in to a library location to check out equipment.
Each semester the library will determine when equipment checkout will start. Equipment will become available on the same date for students, faculty and staff.
One employee may check out multiple devices if needed for a specific event. There is no guarantee that the Library will have devices available for checkout and they cannot be placed on hold for the event. Equipment for events will not be semester checkout. Devices are expected to be returned two business days after the event has concluded.
Late Returns
Borrowers will receive a reminder email before the loan period ends.
